[. . . ] Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen the screw. Install 2 new "AA" (UM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance. ) 4. [. . . ] If an object is inserted through one of the openings of the ball, please follow these steps: 1. Locate the battery box on the unit.
3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw on the battery box to take the battery box out of the ball. Remove the object from the ball.

TO BEGIN PLAY
1. Slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH ) or MUSIC MODE to the TALKING MODE ( ( ) position to turn the unit ON. You will be greeted with a short tune or a talking phrase. The LIGHT-UP STAR will flash with the sound. Press one of the CHARACTER BUTTONS to begin play.

3. Roll or spin the ball to hear random melodies, funny sound effects, or short tunes. The LIGHTUP STAR will flash with the sound.
4. To adjust the volume, slide the VOLUME ) for LOW CONTROL SWITCH to ( VOLUME or ( ) for HIGH VOLUME.
5. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the OFF ( ) position.
NOTE: To preserve battery life, the VTech® Peek-A-Boo BallTM learning toy will turn off automatically after a few minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.
ACTIVITIES
