BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Install 2 new "AA" (UM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance. ) 4. [. . . ] The unit should now be ready to play again. Slide the ON/OFF/ACTIVITY SELECTOR to either the TALKING ACTIVITY ( ) or the MUSIC ACTIVITY ( ) position to turn the unit ON. You will hear "Smile" or a short tune. To adjust the volume, slide the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH located on the back of the unit to ( ) for High Volume or ( ) for Low Volume.
3. Roll the octopus or press the GOGGLE BUTTON to begin play.

4. Turn the ON/OFF/ACTIVITY SELECTOR to the OFF position ( ) to turn the unit off.
ACTIVITIES
A. Slide the ON/OFF/ACTIVITY SELECTOR to the TALKING ACTIVITY ( ). You will hear "Smile!"/ Lights will flash along with the sound.
2. Press the GOGGLE BUTTON to hear a fun sound effect followed by the identification of a shape. Release the GOGGLE BUTTON to see the BOUNCY EYES move quickly up and down. Roll the octopus to hear a silly sound effect. A LIGHT-UP SHAPE will flash in the direction being pushed. Then the shape will be identified.

B. Slide the ON/OFF/ACTIVITY SELECTOR to the MUSIC ACTIVITY ( ) position. You will hear a short tune and lights will flash along with the sound.
