[. . . ] INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE BEFORE USING THE WASHING MACHINE FIRST WASH CYCLE PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS DESCRIPTION OF THE WASHING MACHINE DETERGENTS AND ADDITIVES CARE AND MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE AFTER-SALES SERVICE TRANSPORT AND HANDLING INSTALLATION ELECTRICAL CONNECTION 17 BEFORE USING THE WASHING MACHINE 1. Remove the packaging and check • After unpacking, make sure that the washing machine is undamaged. If in doubt, do not use the washing machine. Contact After-Sales Service or your local dealer. • Keep the packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene parts, etc. ) out of reach of children, since it is a possible source of danger. 6. Electrical connections • Electrical connections must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions and local safety regulations. [. . . ] • When using Start Delay, use only powder detergent, liquid detergents may run through before the programme starts. • If you use powder starch, proceed as follows: 1. Wash your laundry using the desired wash programme. Next mix the starch with water in a cup. Set the “Rinse and Spin” programme, reduce the speed to Medium and start the programme. Pull the detergent dispenser out until you can see about 3 cm of the chamber. While the water is running into the detergent dispenser, pour the starch solution into the chamber. If there are starch residues in the detergent dispenser after the end of the programme, clean it if necessary (see “Care and Maintenance”). Observe also the starch manufacturer’s information. 22 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Appliance exterior and control panel • Clean using a neutral household cleaner (do not use abrasive products or solvents). • Dry with a soft cloth. Door seal • Clean occasionally with a damp cloth. • Check the seal folds for foreign bodies periodically. Detergent dispenser 1. Press the release lever in the prewash compartment down and pull out the dispenser. 2. Remove the inserts from the detergent dispenser. 4. Replace the separate parts in the detergent dispenser and slide the dispenser back into the opening. Release lever Periodically check and clean the mesh filters in the water connection. 1. Turn off the tap. 2. Unscrew the water inlet hose from the tap. 4. Screw the supply hose back onto the tap. 5. Unscrew the supply hose from the washing machine. 6. Clean the mesh filter in the washing machine. 7. Screw the supply hose back on to the machine. 8. Turn on the tap and ensure that the connections are water-tight. 23 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE This washing machine is equipped with automatic safety functions which detect and diagnose faults at an early stage and react appropriately. Often, however, the faults detected are small enough to be solved in a matter of minutes. For example: The appliance vibrates during the spin cycle. Check whether: • the appliance is levelled and solidly installed on all four feet (see “Installation”); • the transit bolts have been removed. Before using the washing machine you must remove the transit bolts (see “Installation”). The appliance will not start; no lamp lights up. Check whether: • the appliance is plugged in; • the wall socket is functioning correctly (use a table lamp or similar to test); • a programme is selected correctly. Final spin results are poor: The appliance has an imbalance detection and correction system. [. . . ] Screw the plywood sheet to the floor. 27 Connect the water supply hoses Connect to the water mains using the new hose-sets supplied. 1. Fix the water inlet hose with the red stripe at the red valve of the washing machine and at the hot water tap. 2. Fix the water inlet hose with the blue stripe at the white valve of the washing machine and at the cold water tap. 3. Make sure there are no kinks in the hoses. [. . . ]
