[. . . ] [. . . ] 7676 South 46th Street · Phoenix, AZ 85040 602. 449. 8268 · Xtant. com # NDM159 Owner's Manual ­ A1244A Remote Gain Module INSTALLING THE A1244A STEP 1: Locating the Connectors A Remove the A1244A from inspect the circuit board the packaging and INSTALLING THE A1244A STEP 2: Installing on Circuit Board The A1244A is designed to be adjusted with the use of a control knob A Plug the supplied cord into the A1244A's socket on the module board B Turn off amplifier Remove amplifier cover and locate the Accessory Port C Remove the two header jumpers and locate the missing pin ("key") on the port D Align the blocked receptacle on the right angle header connector with the missing pin and press the A1244A onto the mounting port E Rotate the amplifier's gain control clockwise (fully) to dB F Run the A1244A's cord out of the amp near the RCA inputs G Replace the amplifier's cover and put the screws back in to secure it to the baseplate H Run the supplied foot cord to the location in the vehicle where you want to mount the gain knob INSTALLING THE A1244A STEP 3: Rear & Surface Mount FOR REAR MOUNT A Gently pull the black gain knob off the shaft to remove it B Plug the cord into the A1244A control box C Use a / " size drill bit to make a hole in the surface you wish to mount the knob to D Place the control box behind the panel and insert the knob through the hole E Replace the nut located in the parts bag on the shaft by turning it clockwise and then gently push the knob back onto the shaft F The A1244A knob is now controlling the gain of your amplifier FOR SURFACE MOUNT A Plug supplied cord into A1244A control box B Secure control box to surface where you wish to mount it with supplied screws C The A1244A knob is now controlling the gain of your amplifier B Locate the header connectors soldered onto the top and bottom of the circuit board See illustration illustration TOP OF BOTTOM OF A1244A CIRCUIT BOARD A1244A CIRCUIT BOARD locating "key" HEADER CONNECTOR RIGHT ANGLE HEADER CONNECTOR C Notice that one of the openings on both header connectors is blocked by white filler material The A1244A's mounting system utilizes this blocked receptacle as the "key" to insure proper positioning when installing the A1244A onto the amplifier's mounting port illustration [. . . ] [. . . ]
