Batteries produce explosive gases: Keep sparks, flame, cigarettes, etc. Ventilate when charging or using in a closed space. Always wear eye protection when working near batteries. NOTE: Batteries vary among manufacturers. Therefore the following procedures may not always apply. Consult your battery manufacturer's instructions. 1) Disconnect and remove the battery from the boat. Always disconnect the black negative lead first to prevent the risk of shorting. Fill each cell to the upper level with distilled water. Store the battery on a level surface in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight.
