Make sure there are no fuel leaks or gasoline fumes. Check fuel line connections to be sure they are tight (if equipped Yamaha fuel tank or boat tank). Use a thoroughly blended fuel-oil mixture. If the mixture is not thoroughly mixed, or if the mixing ratio is incorrect, the following problems could occur. Low oil ratio: Lack of oil could cause major engine trouble, such as piston seizure. High oil ratio: Too much oil could cause fouled spark plugs, smoky exhaust, and heavy carbon deposits. Gasoline is highly flammable, and its vapors 20 Operation are flammable and explosive. Refrain from smoking, and keep away from open flames and sparks while loosening the air vent screw.
