I Power Supply · Turn the power switch OFF when not in use. · If you use an AC power adaptor, unplug the adaptor from the AC outlet if not to be used for an extended period of time. · Unplug the AC power adaptor during electric storms. · Avoid plugging the AC power adaptor into the same AC outlet as appliances with high power consumption, such as electric heaters or ovens. Also avoid using multi-plug adaptors since these can result in reduced sound quality and possibly damage. I Turn Power OFF When Making Connections · To avoid damage to the Silent Electric Cello and other devices to which it is connected (a sound system, for example), turn the power switches of all related devices OFF prior to connecting or disconnecting audio cables. I Handling and Transport · · · · Never apply excessive force to the controls, connectors or other parts. Always unplug cables by gripping the plug firmly, not by pulling on the cable. Disconnect all cables before moving the unit. Physical shocks caused by dropping, bumping, or placing heavy objects on the unit can result in scratches and more serious damage. I Cleaning · · · · Clean the cabinet and panel with a dry soft cloth. A slightly damp cloth may be used to remove stubborn grime and dirt. However, the support is designed to have some looseness shown by "B", even when the bolt is tightened firmly. When attaching/removing the knee support, be careful that it does not fall off and hit the instrument. Change the strings as soon as you think they are getting old. Always change the strings one at a time, even if all strings must be changed. · The end of the strings are sharp and can cut fingers. · When changing or adjusting strings, do not put your face close to the instrument. The string may suddenly break resulting in eye or other unexpected injuries. Winding the Strings 1 From above the tailpiece, insert the ball end of the string into the hole on the tailpiece then pull on the string so the ball end fits securely in the slot on the backside of the tailpiece. String [Looking from the underside of the tailpiece] Ballend Tailpiece Ballend 2 Extend the opposite end of the string up to the tuning peg and use a wire cutter, etc. , to cut the end of the string off about 10cm past the tuning peg*. * Three to five wraps around the post with the string should be adequate. Adjust the number of wraps according to the type of strings you use. Make sure that the string is wound at least three times but be careful that the string is not wound too many times and becomes heavy. 2nd string (D) post 10 c 1st string (A) Three to five wraps m 10 cm 10 c m 10 cm 3rd string (G) 4th string (C) 12 3 Insert the cut end of the string all of the way into the hole in the tuning peg's post and bend it 90°.
