If there is insufficient road clearance in this position, then trailer the motor in the tilt position using a motor support device such as a transom saver bar. Severe injury could occur if the outboard accidentally falls. 8 USE CARE when transporting fuel tank, whether in a boat or car. 8 DO NOT fill fuel container to maximum capacity. Gasoline will expand considerably as it warms up and can build up pressure in the fuel container. This can cause fuel leakage and a potential fire hazard. cC Do not use the tilt support lever/knob when trailering the boat. The outboard motor could shake loose from the tilt support and fall. If the motor can not be trailered in the down position, use an additional support device to secure it in the up position. 4-3 E EMU01259 STORING OUTBOARD MOTOR When storing your outboard motor for prolonged periods of time (2 months or longer), several important procedures must be performed to prevent expensive damage. (Refer to the "CLEANING AND ADJUSTING SPARK PLUG"). 2) Turn the engine over with the stop lanyard disconnected to work the fogging oil into the piston rings. (Refer to "CHANGING GEAR OIL"). Inspect the oil for the presence of water which indicates a leaky seal. Seal replacement should be performed by an authorized Yamaha dealership prior to use.
