The tiltsupport bar will lock automatically, supporting the engine in a partially raised position. When transporting and storing the outboard motor, close the air vent screw and fuel cock to prevent fuel from leaking. If there is insufficient road clearance in this position, then trailer the motor in the tilt position using a motor support device such as a transom saver bar.
