[. . . ] OWNER'S MANUAL FJR13AEV(C) LIT-11626-19-87 2D2-28199-1A EAU10041 INTRODUCTION EAU10080 Congratulations on your purchase of the Yamaha FJR13AEV(C). This model is the result of Yamaha's vast experience in the production of fine sporting, touring, and pacesetting racing machines. It represents the high degree of craftsmanship and reliability that have made Yamaha a leader in these fields. This manual will give you an understanding of the operation, inspection, and basic maintenance of this motorcycle. [. . . ] 10001600 km (6001000 mi) Avoid prolonged operation above 5400 r/min. Keep the engine speed out of the tachometer red zone. If any engine trouble should occur during the engine break-in period, immediately have a Yamaha dealer check the vehicle. G Always stop the engine using the main switch. When the engine stop switch has been used in an emergency, be sure to apply the front or rear brake while the main switch is still on, as the clutch automatically disengages a few seconds after the engine is turned off, and the rear wheel will move freely. Since the engine and exhaust system can become very hot, park in a place where pedestrians or children are not likely to touch them. 5-4 OPERATION AND IMPORTANT RIDING POINTS G Do not park on a slope or on soft ground, otherwise the vehicle may overturn. ECA10380 CAUTION: Never park in an area where there are fire hazards such as grass or other flammable materials. 5 5-5 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND MINOR REPAIR EAU17231 EAU17301 EAU17350 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE Safety is an obligation of the owner.
