KX Remote Tools Installation Guide 2 About KX Remote Tools KX Remote Tools consists of two software components: KX Editor and KX Extension. KX Editor is software which lets you edit/ create Control Templates for the KX USB Keyboard Studio. KX Extension is software component that enables you to use the KX along with Cubase. The KX Remote Tools Installer installs these two software components. NOTE KX Extension is a specific, dedicated program within the Extensions for Steinberg DAW which provides integrated features for the KX. Software Installation To use the KX Remote Tools, you will need to install additional applications, as described below. 1 2 Install a DAW software, such as Cubase. For installing the version of Cubase included with the KX, refer to page 13 in the KX Owner's Manual.
