[. . . ] Manually tuning into an FM station will automatically switch the tuner to monaural reception to increase the signal quality. Presetting stations Automatically presetting FM stations You can use the automatic preset tuning feature to store FM stations. This function enables this unit to automatically tune into FM stations with strong signals, and to store up to 40 (8 stations in 5 groups, A1 through E8) of those stations in order. You can then recall any preset station easily by selecting the preset station number. (U. S. A. model) VOLUME 1 Select TUNER and the reception band following steps 1 and 2 as described in "Automatic tuning". Press TUNING MODE (AUTO/MAN'L MONO) so that the AUTO indicator disappears from the front panel display. The preset number, the MEMORY and AUTO indicators flash. After about 5 seconds, automatic presetting starts from the frequency currently displayed and proceeds toward the higher frequencies.
