When a subwoofer is connected to this unit and you want to get natural bass sound Select "SWFR" (subwoofer). The LFE signals as well as the low-frequency signals of other speakers set to "SML" (or "SMALL") are directed to the subwoofer. When a subwoofer is connected to this unit and you want to get rich bass sound Select "BOTH" (both). The low-frequency signals of any source are output from the subwoofer. The LFE signals as well as the low-frequency signals of other speakers set to "SML" (or "SMALL") are directed to the subwoofer. The low-frequency signals of the front left and right channels are directed to the front left and right speakers and the subwoofer regardless of the "FRONT SP" setting (see page 51).
