This model is the result of Yamaha's vast experience in the production of fine sporting, touring, and pacesetting racing machines. It represents the high degree of craftsmanship and reliability that have made Yamaha a leader in these fields. This manual will give you an understanding of the operation, inspection, and basic maintenance of this motorcycle. [. . . ] Remove the oil filter element and O-rings. 1 NOTE: Make sure that the O-ring is properly seated. Install the engine oil strainer, compression spring, O-ring and engine oil drain bolt, and then tighten the drain bolt to the specified torque. ECA10420 2(×2) 1. Check the O-rings for damage and CAUTION: Before installing the engine oil drain bolt, do not forget to install the 6-13 CAUTION: G In order to prevent clutch slippage (since the engine oil also lubricates the clutch), do not mix any chemical additives. Do not use oils with a diesel specification of "CD" or oils of a higher quality than specified. In addition, do not use oils labeled "ENERGY CONSERVING II" or PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND MINOR REPAIR G higher. Make sure that no foreign material enters the crankcase. Pull the air filter element out from the air filter case. 5.
