When disassembling the master cylinder or caliper cylinder, replace the brake fluid. Normally check the brake fluid level and fill the master cylinder with fluid as required. On the inner parts of the master cylinder and caliper cylinder, replace the oil seals every two years. Replace the brake/hoses every four years, or if cracked or damaged. 7-5 EAH44705 Engine oil 1. Place the motorcycle on a level place and hold it in an upright position. Warm up the engine for several minutes. EUU03901 NOTE: Be sure the motorcycle is positioned straight up when checking the oil level. A slight tilt toward the side can result in false readings. With the engine stopped, check the oil level through the level window located at the lower part of the right side crankcase cover. 1. Remove the empty fuel tank, pour a cup of SAE 10W30 or 20W40 motor oil in the tank, shake the tank to coat the inner surfaces thoroughly and drain off the excess oil. Remove each spark plug, pour about one tablespoon of SAE 10W30 or 20W40 motor oil in each spark plug hole and reinstall the spark plugs. [. . . ]
