[. . . ] s The DELAY START option allows you to delay starting of the wash programme to any time of day, so allowing you- for instance- to make use of overnight economy electricity tariffs. s Fuzzy Logic technology enables the washing time in the White cotton and Coloured cotton programmes to be calculated automatically according to the weight of the laundry. s Automatic cooling of the wash water to 60°C before draining, with the 95°C programme, prevents distortion of plastic pipes in the domestic water system due to the high temperature of the water. s The special wool programme with its new delicate wash system treats your woollen with extreme gentleness. [. . . ] The figures indicating the required delay appear in the display next to the button. After one minute, the machine starts its countdown (every hour). During the last hour, the remaining time is displayed every 5 minutes. The delayed start function cannot be used with the SPIN and DRAIN programmes. To modify or cancel the preset delay, press the START/PAUSE button, then press the DELAY START button until the required value is displayed or, if you wish to cancel the delay, until the symbol h is displayed. Then press the START/PAUSE button again. When the delay is cancelled, the display shows the duration of the wash programme previously selected. 10 START/PAUSE button This button has three functions: a) Start After having selected the required wash programme, press this button to start the machine; the display stops flashing. b) Pause To interrupt a programme which is running, press the START/PAUSE button: the figures displayed will start to flash. To restart the programme from the point at which it was interrupted, press the START/PAUSE button again. c) Empty out water At the end of a programme which stops with water in the drum (RINSE HOLD option), or after the soak programme, press the START/PAUSE button to empty out the water: after a soak programme, the machine will empty only; after RINSE HOLD programmes, the machine will empty and spin. 12 Operating pilot lights The pilot lights come on individually, or in groups, according to the options selected. The pilot lights flash for about three seconds if wash options are incorrectly selected. Mould stains: treat with bleach, rinse well (whites and fast coloureds only). Grass: soap lightly and treat with bleach (whites and fast coloureds only). Ball point pen and glue: moisten with acetone (*), lay the garment on a soft cloth and dab the stain. Lipstick: moisten with acetone as above, then treat stains with methylated spirits. Remove any residual marks from white fabrics with bleach. Before loading the laundry Never wash whites and coloureds together. Whites may lose their "whiteness" in the wash. New coloured items may run in the first wash; they should therefore be washed separately the first time. Make sure that no metal objects are left in the laundry (e. g. Button up pillowcases, close zip fasteners, hooks and poppers. Remove persistent stains before washing. Rub particularly soiled areas with a special detergent or detergent paste.
