[. . . ] If the cleaner suddenly turns off, follow this procedure: 1. Push on/off rocker switch to "OFF" position. Check for source of overheating problem (i. e. full bag, clogged hose or clogged filter). If a full bag, clogged hose or clogged filter is found, replace the bag, unclog the hose or replace the filters. Wait at least 30 minutes before attempting to reuse the cleaner. After 30 minute cool down period, plug the cleaner in and push the rocker switch to on position. If the cleaner still does not operate, call 08706 055055 for assistance. 7 How To Use Accessories NOTE: Do not place cleaner on furniture or stairs as the brush roll may cause damage. Place cleaner on floor with the handle in storage position while using accessories. Place desired accessory onto end of hose or tube. Always work with the cleaner below you, pulling hose from side of cleaner; not the back or the front of the cleaner. Do not allow the cleaner to tip forward when using the hose as this may cause over brushing of the carpet pile due to continuous operation in the same spot. Dusting Brush is for furniture, blinds, books, lamp shades, shelves. (On some models. ) Dusting Brush Upholstery Nozzle is for curtains, draperies, cushions, fabrics. (On some models. ) Upholstery Nozzle Combination Tool gives two types of cleaning tools. (On some models. ) · Use brush side to dust furniture, blinds, books, lamps, shelves. · Use upholstery side for curtains, draperies, cushions, fabrics. Dusting Side Upholstery Side Crevice Tool cleans corners, baseboards, between cushions. Crevice Tool Extension Tube(s) Some cleaners feature a single extension tube while others feature the nested extension tubes. Nested Extension Tubes to add reach. · Grasp both tubes near ridges. Floor Nozzle (some models only) Simply attach to hose or extension tube for effective floor cleaning. 8 · Pull apart. · Turn ridge end to center. · Push tubes together. STAIR CLEANING HOSE (Only on Certain Models) WARNING: Never position any cleaner on the stairs as this could damage the carpet. Some models will come complete with an extra bonus hose which is ideal for cleaning stairs. HOW TO ASSEMBLE AND USE WARNING Step 1 - Remove the hose attached to the cleaner. Always work with the cleaner below you, pulling hose from side of cleaner; not the back or the front of the cleaner. Ensure it is positioned sideways up against the bottom step. Step 2 - Connect the hose cuff to the end of the bonus hose. NEVER STAND ANY CLEANER ABOVE YOU. Step 3 - You are ready to clean your stairs. NEVER POSITION ANY CLEANER ON THE STAIRS AS THIS COULD DAMAGE THE CARPET. 9 HOW TO MAINTAIN The instructions in this booklet serve as a guide to routine maintenance. To avoid unnecessary service calls, check the bag, belt, and brush roll often. Check and Clear Hose Blockages Low suction or poor pickup may be due to a blockage in the vacuum cleaner. Remove hose and check suction at end of hose - if little or no suction, check disposable dust bag. [. . . ] Replace brush roll if bristles are worn. Remove any clogs from the hose that restrict the airflow. Hint: If picking up fine dust, the bag may not look full, but a fine substance tends to reduce suction when it blocks the airflow through the paper bag.
