Check the general aspect of the appliance. [. . . ] · Release the knob after 10 seconds and watch that the burner has ignited. · Upon ignition, adjust the flame as required. If for any reason the flame should extinguish turn off the relevant control know, leave for at least one minute and then re-ignite. If after a few attempts the burner does not ignite, check that the burner ring and its cap are correctly positioned. Extinguishing of burners Turn the knob clockwise to mark « fig. 9 ». Do not put on the hob things or food liable to melt. 9 Electric plate To switch on a hotplate, turn the relevant control knob to the required heat setting. The control knob is numbered 0 ­ 6 0 ­ OFF 1 ­ Minimum 6 ­ Maximum To spare the electric plate and for saving power, we advise you: 1. to use flat bottom pots, with the right diameter, never smaller. avoid liquids over flowing when boiling. never leave the plates on without a pot on them or with an empty pot on them. In models supplied with a cover, it should not be closed when the burners are still hot. To prevent damaging or weakening the door glass panels avoid the use of the following: · Household detergent and bleaches · Impregnated pads unsuitable for non stick saucepans · Brillo/Ajax pads or steel wool pads · Chemical oven pads or aerosols · Rust removers · Bath/Sink stain removers Oven Door - The door can be dismantled for cleaning as follows: - Open the door completely. - Revolve the two locking parts on the hinge arms completely upwards. - Partially close the door, to a 30o angle - Lift the door and pull out The internal oven door glass can be removed for cleaning. For this purpose remove the 2 fixing screws. Clean the outer and inner door glass using warm soapy water. Always support the door while removing the glass panel as the door may spring closed due to its lighter weight. 16 DO NOT clean the oven door while the glass panels are warm. If this precaution is not observed the glass panel may shatter. If the door glass panel becomes chipped or has deep scratches, the glass will be weakened and must be replaced to prevent the possibility of the panel shattering. Contact your local Service Centre who will be pleased to advise further. IMPORTANT: The inner door glass must be in place when using the oven. 12 Oven Cavity The enamelled oven cavity is best cleaned whilst the oven is still warm.
