A B D042 Rear spacers (Fig. 2) In the plastic envelope containing the Operating Instructions are also included two wall spacers to be fitted into the special openings provided on the back of the appliance. Push-fit the spacers into the openings, making sure that arrow (A) is positioned as per Fig. 2 and then turn the spacers through 45° until they lock in (arrow (A) in a vertical position). Cleaning the interior Before using the appliance for the first time, wash the interior and all internal accessories with lukewarm water and some neutral soap so as to remove the typical smell of a brand-new product, then dry thoroughly. Do not use detergents which will leave an odour or abrasive powders on the interior, as these will damage the finish. 4 Door reversibility (Fig. 3) Unplug the refrigerator from the wall socket before performing the following operations: Remove socle (2) by unscrewing its front screws. Slide it downwards to release it from the central runners. Unscrew pin (C) from hole (A) and screw it into hole (B). Remove door stop hinge (D) and refit it on the opposite side. Slide out the lower door from middle hinge. Remove middle hinge (4) and upper hinge (3) and refit them on the opposite side. Refit lower door and bottom hinge (1) on the opposite side. Remove handles (5-6) and refit them on the opposite side. The holes that are not used are to be masked with the plastic plugs removed. Attention After completion of the door reversibility operation, verify that the door gasket is adherent to the cabinet. If the ambient temperature is cold (i. e. in Winter), the gasket may not fit perfectly to the cabinet. In that case, wait for the natural fitting of the gasket or accelerate this process by heating up the part involved with a normal hairdrier. Open the refrigerator door and turn the thermostat knob, to be found on the upper right side of the inner liner, clockwise, beyond the «O» position, to start the appliance. Temperature adjustment is obtained by turning the thermostat knob to the required setting. [. . . ] To carry out complete defrosting of the freezer compartment ( ) proceed as follows: Unplug the appliance from the power supply or set the thermostat on the «O» position. Remove the ice-cube trays and the frozen foods and wrap them in several sheets of newspaper or, even better, in thermally insulated containers, and then keep them in a cool place. Keep the freezer door open and introduce a container filled with hot water (taking care to place this on a layer of cardboard) so as to accelerate the defrosting process.
