Voltage can vary by ±6% of the rated voltage. For operation with different voltages, a suitably sized auto-transformer must be used. D405 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION The technical data is indicated in the rating plate on the left side inside the appliance. Fast freezing Turn the knob (F-Fig. 5) to «S» (SUPER) setting (pilot light (D) comes on). Warning light (B-Fig. 5) Storing of frozen foods Insert the plug into the wall socket, pilot light (A) will come on; this indicates that the appliance is switched on. To safely store frozen and deep-frozen foods, the temperature inside the freezer must be at least 18°C or colder. Therefore, we suggest you turn the knob (E) to a medium setting. The temperature inside the freezer is automatically adjusted to ensure safe storage of the food. However if the appliance works in unfavourable room conditions such as poor ventilation, high or low ambient temperature and frequent door openings, it might be necessary to adjust the setting. Turn knob (E) to the higher numbers to obtain lower temperatures and, conversely, to the lower numbers if a less cold temperature is required. Freezer operation can be halted by turning knob (E) to position «O». This light warns when the temperature inside the freezer compartment has increased to a point at which safe storage of food can no longer be guaranteed. When the appliance is switched on for the first time or when food is placed in the compartment for freezing, this light remains on until the temperature has reached the level required for correct storage. 21 Freezer compartment thermometer The thermometer allows you to check the temperature inside the cabinet without opening the freezer door, so ensuring more economical operation of the appliance. To get the best performance from your freezer, the thermometer should show a temperature of 18°C. For storage: Food can deteriorate if the temperature inside the freezer is too high. Adjust the thermostat to a higher setting. Only change the thermostat position by one mark at a time and wait for the thermometer reading to stabilise before making any further change. Freezing of fresh foods To fast-freeze foods when the appliance has not been in use, switch on the freezer and let it run on the fastfreeze setting for at least three hours before putting the food to be frozen in the compartment. [. . . ] To make these adjustments proceed as follows: Gradually pull the shelf in the direction of the arrows until it comes free, then reposition as required (Fig. 8 D064 For more thorough cleaning, the top door shelf can be removed by pulling it in the direction of the arrows, then refitting it in position (Fig. 9 D066 25 Defrosting Frost is automatically eliminated from the evaporator of the refrigerator compartment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use. The defrost water drains out through a trough (Fig. [. . . ]
