Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is supplied with the appliance in order that the new owner can be acquainted with the functioning of the appliance and the relevant warnings. These warnings are provided in the interest of safety. You must read them carefully before installing or using the appliance. General Safety This appliance is designed to be operated by adults. [. . . ] The holes which are not used are masked by plastic plugs which should be removed and refitted onto the free holes. The doors can be aligned by adjusting both the middle and top hinges. The middle hinge can be adjusted horizontally, with the help of a tool, after having slackened the two screws. The top hinge is adjusted by slackening the nut with a 10 mm spanner and then proceeding as shown in the Figure. H D427 B A Fig. 5 Fitting door panels (for models equipped with door frame) To fit the door panel, proceed as follows: Loosen the fixing screws to remove the frame side opposite the handle. Loosen all the screws fixing the door frames. Insert the panel from the side on which the frame has been removed and push it through. 21 D405 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION The technical data is indicated in the rating plate on the left side inside the appliance. GB Electrical connection Before plugging in, ensure that the voltage and frequency shown on the serial number plate correspond to your domestic power supply. Voltage can vary by ±6% of the rated voltage. Freezer operation can be halted by turning knob (D) to position «O». The refrigerator will continue to work. Fast freezing Turn the knob (E-Fig. 6) to «S» (SUPER) setting (pilot light (B) comes on). Storing of frozen foods Insert the plug into the wall socket, pilot light (A) will come on; this indicates that the appliance is switched on. To safely store frozen and deep-frozen foods, the temperature inside the freezer must be at least ­18°C or colder. Therefore, we suggest you turn the knob (D) to a medium setting. The temperature inside the freezer is automatically adjusted to ensure safe storage of the food. However if the appliance works in unfavourable room conditions such as poor ventilation, high or low ambient temperature and frequent door openings, it might be necessary to adjust the setting. Turn knob (D) to the higher numbers to obtain lower temperatures and, conversely, to the lower numbers if a less cold temperature is required. Warning light (C-Fig. 6) This light warns when the temperature inside the freezer compartment has increased to a point at which safe storage of food can no longer be guaranteed. When the appliance is switched on for the first time or when food is placed in the compartment for freezing, this light remains on until the temperature has reached the level required for correct storage. Freezing of fresh foods To fast-freeze foods when the appliance has not been in use, switch on the freezer and let it run on the fastfreeze setting for at least three hours before putting the food to be frozen in the compartment. If the appliance is already in operation, it should run 23 on the fast-freeze setting for at least 24 hours before the food is put in the freezer.
