Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance does not stand on the electrical supply cable. Before defrosting, cleaning or maintenance work is carried out, be sure to switch off the appliance and unplug it. [. . . ] Meat, fish and fruit should be thawed in the refrigerator compartment and small pieces of meat or poultry can even be cooked while still frozen, but you must ensure that it is thoroughly cooked through. Vegetables should be directly immersed in boiling water; ready-cooked dishes can be placed directly in the oven in their aluminium wrapping. A microwave oven is particularly suitable for thawing any type of frozen or deep-frozen food: follow the oven instructions, particularly regarding the placement of aluminium wrapping in the oven. Ambient temperature switch With a room temperature below +16°C the refrigerator compartment may not function correctly. If the room temperature is lower than +16°C it will be necessary to depress switch (A). It is important that food is used before its "best before" date. Store eggs in the egg rack provided in the refrigerator door. Regularly check the refrigerator door seal to ensure that it is clean and free from bits and pieces. GB Always wash your hands with soapy water and dry them with a clean towel before handling food. Keep work surfaces clean and avoid cross contamination by not using the same work surface or knife, without washing them thoroughly in between. Use kitchen roll wherever possible for cleaning up food. If you use a dishcloth, be sure to boil it frequently. The fresh foods to be frozen must be fresh and of the best quality. The top shelf can be removed for easier cleaning (see Fig. 8 D066 12 Drink dispenser The container for cooling drinks (Fig. 9) is located in the door of the fridge. It is easily removed from its runners for filling and cleaning by pushing it upwards from the left side and then by pulling sharply outwards. To pour a drink, press a glass upwards against the tap arms. To stop the flow of liquid remove the glass. Before using the dispenser, we recommend that you rinse it several times with hot water. For a thorough cleaning of the container add a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda to the rinsing water. Push the dispenser tap on and off several times to allow sugar deposits from soft drinks or wines to dissolve, or alternatively remove for cleaning by unscrewing in an anticlockwise direction. Empty the container and rinse thoroughly with clean water. If using the dispenser to store fresh fruit juice, particular attention should be paid to the manufacturers storage instructions.
