Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is supplied with the appliance in order that the new owner can be acquainted with the functioning of the appliance and the relevant warnings. These warnings are provided in the interest of safety. You must read them carefully before installing or using the appliance. General Safety This appliance is designed to be operated by adults. Warning light (C) This light warns when the temperature inside the freezer compartment has increased so much as to jeopardize the preservation of food in the compartment. When the appliance is switched on for the first time or when food is placed in the compartment for freezing, this light remains on until the temperature has reached the level required for correct storage. Frozen food storage Insert the plug into the wall socket, pilot light (A) will come on; this indicates that the appliance is switched on. For correct storage of frozen and deep-frozen foods, freezer temperature should be at least ­18°C or colder. To do this, we recommend that you turn knob (E) to an intermediate position. The freezer's temperature is thus automatically set for good food storage. If the appliance is being used in abnormal conditions ­ e. g. poor ventilation, high or low room temperature and/or frequent opening of appliance's door ­ the setting must be adjusted accordingly. In these cases knob (E) must be turned to the higher settings to obtain a lower temperature, or to the lower settings to obtain a higher temperature. Freezer operation can be halted by turning knob (E) to position «O». The refrigerator will continue to work.
