Locking the appliance or the cooking zones (child-proofing) 3 Locking the appliance The locking key enables you to completely lock the appliance so that no accidental settings can be made. 1. Press the locking key The corresponding indicator lamp is switched on. Switch off the child-proofing function before you switch off the appliance. If you do not switch off the safety lock before switching off the hob, the safety lock will still be active when you switch on the hob again. No other controls can be operated until you switch off the safty lock. 3 3 Locking the cooking zones If one or more cooking zones are switched on, you can block them to prevent the settings which have been made accidentally being adjusted. If the cooking zone is switched on and if the heating power has been selected, press the locking key y. The locking system is activated: The corresponding indicator lamp is switched on. When the controller is locked: · The settings can not be changed; · The cooking zones and the controller can only be switched off with the aid of the On/Off button. If you select a higher setting during the Automatic function, e. g. from § to %, allowance is made for the previous heating-up time. If you select a lower stage, the Automatic function is ended immediately. If you start cooking again on a cooking zone that is still warm, the automatic warm up function uses the residual heat. If the pan is removed from the cooking zone during the heating-up boost, the heating-up boost is interrupted until a pan is put back down (if the interruption does not last longer than 10 minutes). 9 Automatic Timer The integrated timer can be used to set the cooking duration on all four cooking zones. Using the automatic timer means that you do not have to constantly remain near the cooking zone during cooking: The cooking zone is switched off automatically at the end of the required time. If you program the timer without a cooking zone, you can use it as a minute minder (see minute minder function). Minute Minder The timer can be used as a minute minder if it is not programmed for a cooking zone. Switching on the minute minder The appliance is switched off: 1. The timer cannot be used as an egg timer as soon as one or more cooking zones are in operation. Programming the automatic timer 1. As soon as the cooking zone has been selected and the decimal point is displayed, set a heating power level between 1 and 9. "00" is shown in the timer display. Use the keys - and + in order to select the required cooking duration (1 - 99 minutes). The timer is automatically activated after a few seconds and counts backwards in minutes. Switching off the minute minder After the programmed period expires, "00" is shown in the timer display and audible signal is heard for 2 minutes. To switch off the tone signal before the 2 minutes have elapsed, press any key. If you want to switch off the timer before the programmed period has ended, press the key - until "00" is shown in the timer display. To switch off the time switch quickly, press the keys + and - simultaneously. 3 Keep the key + or - pressed in order to adjust the required period more quickly. Switching off the automatic timer When the set cooking duration has elapsed, the cooking zone is automatically switched off. If the mains cable has to be replaced, order it from your specialist dealer and have it replaced by a qualified electrician. Connecting the hob The induction cooking field can be connected either single-phase or double-phase. 16 GUARANTEE CONDITIONS Standard guarantee conditions We, Zanussi, undertake that if, within 24 months of the date of the purchase, this Zanussi appliance or any part thereof is proved to be defective by any reason only of faulty workmanship or materials, we will, at our option, repair or replace the same FREE OF ANY CHARGE for labour, materials or carriage on condition that: · The appliance has been correctly installed andused only on the gas and electricity supply stated on the rating plate. · The appliance has been used for normal domestic purpose only, and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. · The appliance has not been serviced, maintained, repaired, taken apart or tampered with by any person not authorised by us.
