Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. This product should be serviced by an authorized Service Centre, and only genuine spare parts should be used. It is dangerous to alter the specifications or modify this product in any way. [. . . ] Refit door frames (A-B-C-D) as follows: D148 frame (A) in place of frame (B), and vice-versa; frame (C) in place of frame (D), and vice-versa. Fix the doors in the new position, making sure that the door pivots of the upper and lower hinges fit correctly in their housings. Remove the plastic plugs from their seat and refit them into the holes left free on the opposite side. Raise the two doors to allow insertion of the central hinge (Fig. 1), then fix it to the cabinet by means of the previously removed screws. Slide out both doors from the upper and lower hinges. Using an open-ended spanner, remove the door pivot (B - Fig. 2) and refit it on the hinge provided on the opposite side of the cabinet. Repeat the above procedure to refit the same items of the lower section. 2 Fitting the handle To fit the door handle, release the screws from the door inner edge, centre the handle on the holes and secure by means of the same screws. A C B D310 36 Fitting the front panel (Fig. 4) The overall dimensions of the covering front panel should be 1-2 mm smaller than those of the door, and the thickness should not exceed 4 mm. With the refrigerator door closed, release the selftapping screws securing the removable side of the door frame. Take off this removable side and slide in the covering panel after slackening the remaining screws around the door frame. Push the covering panel all the way in, then refasten the frame to the door, refitting the previously removed door frame side. 4 Characteristics of the recess Air flows through the ventilation slits in the lower part of the frame. To ensure proper air circulation, though, a «chimney» has to be provided at the back of the cabinet: it should be at least 50 mm deep and 540 mm wide (Fig. The ventilation opening must also be maintained between the upper part (top) of the cabinet and the ceiling. Using the four screws supplied with the appliance, secure the four angle brackets of the appliance cabinet to the recess unit. 37 OPERATION Operation Insert the plug into the wall socket. Open the refrigerator door and turn the thermostat knob, clockwise, beyond the «O» (STOP) position. Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or wrapped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as possible. Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle rack on the door. D024 Replacing the interior light bulb The light bulb of the refrigerator can easily be reached. If the light does not come on when the door is opened, check that the light bulb is correctly screwed in; if after this it still does not light up, replace the bulb. The rating is shown on the light bulb cover. 9 CUSTOMER SERVICE What to do if the appliance is not functioning properly. If something is not working properly, check that: the plug is firmly in the wall socket and the mains power switch is on; there is an electricity supply (find out by plugging in another appliance); the thermostat knob is in the correct position.
