Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Always ensure that there is adequate ventilation as a failure to do this will result in component failure and possible food loss. Parts which heat up should not be exposed. Wherever possible the back of the product should be against a wall. If the appliance has been transported horizontally, it is possible that the oil contained in the compressor flows in the refrigerant circuit. [. . . ] This appliance complies with the following E. E. C. Directives: - 73/23 EEC of 19. 2. 73 (Low Voltage Directive) and subsequent modifications; - 89/336 EEC of 3. 5. 89 (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive) and subsequent modifications. Location Place the appliance away from all heat sources, such as: radiators, heating stoves, direct sunlight, etc. Best performance is obtained with ambient temperature between +18°C and +43°C (class T); +18°C and +38°C (class ST); +16°C and +32°C (class N); +10°C and +32°C (class SN). The class of your appliance is shown on its rating plate. For building-in instructions, see the relevant section. Cleaning the interior Before using the appliance for the first time, wash the interior and all internal accessories with lukewarm water and some neutral soap so as to remove the typical smell of a brand-new product, then dry thoroughly. Do not use detergents or abrasive powders, as these will damage the finish. 16 Building-in instructions P P A P1 D112 P1 Fig. 1) Right opening Remove the pins (P) and (P1). Left opening Remove (P) from both sides and the door. Remove (A) and refit it on the opposite side. Refit the door and (P) on the left side. Remove (P1) from the right side. 17 Housing dimensions Height Depth Width 1580 mm 550 mm 560 mm 50-min. 2 For appropriate venting, follow indications in Fig. 20 GB OPERATION Starting-up - Temperature Regulation Turn the thermostat knob clockwise to the required setting (beyond position «O»); the recommended setting is between 2 and 4. Temperature is regulated automatically and can be increased by turning the knob to lower numbers, or decreased by turning it to higher numbers. However the exact setting should be chosen keeping in mind that the temperature inside the refrigerator depends on: room temperature; how often the door is opened; the quantity of food stored in the refrigerator; location of appliance. To stop the appliance, simply turn the thermostat knob to position «O». GB Refrigeration of foods and drinks To achieve the best results with the refrigerator compartment, you should follow one or two very simple rules: Do not put warm foods or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator. Cover or wrap foods (particularly if they have a strong smell or contain aromatic herbs). Place the foods so that air can circulate free between them. Raw meat (all types): it should be stored in plastic bags, where it can be stored for one or two days at most. Fruit and vegetables: they should be washed and placed in the suitable compartments. When the refrigerator is set for the coldest temperature, with a high surrounding room temperature and a great quantity of foods, it will probably be in constant use, with consequent frosting on the back wall of the compartment. If this does in fact occur, the knob should be set to obtain a slightly higher temperature. In this way the refrigerator automatically defrosts, with a considerable energy saving. 21 Movable shelves The walls of the refrigerator are equipped with a series of runners so that the shelves can be positioned as desired. 13 D040 Positioning the door shelves To permit storage of food packages of various sizes, the door shelves can be adjusted in height. [. . . ] Finally, do not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than is absolutely necessary. After an idle period, foods should be stored in the appliance only after running it for at least two hours, by setting the thermostat to the coldest position; then, turn the knob to standard operation. Important If there is a power failure when food is in the freezer, do not open the door of the freezing compartment. Foods are not affected if the power cut is short (6 to 8 hours) and if the freezing compartment is full; otherwise, foods should be used within a very short time. Once thawed, foods deteriorate soon and cannot be frozen again. Thawing Deep-frozen or frozen food, prior to being used, can be thawed in the refrigerator compartment or at room temperature, depending on the time available for this operation. [. . . ]
