When set to Spare, a DIMM slot is kept in reserve for standby in the event a significant failure occurs in the primary DIMM. If a threshold of runtime error occurs in the primary DIMM, that DIMM will have its data copied to the spare DIMM. Press Enter to enter the submenu screen of the parameters shown in the screen below. 104 4 BIOS setup Boot Settings Configuration The Boot Settings Configuration submenu lets you specify the preferred settings for system bootup. Parameter Quick Boot Description Allows the system to boot faster by skipping some POST routine. Enables or disables the Quiet Boot function. When set to Enabled, BIOS setup is in graphical mode and displays only an identification logo during POST and while booting. After booting the screen displays the operating system prompt (such as DOS) or logo (such as Windows). If any error occurs while booting, the system automatically switched to text mode. Option Enabled Disabled Disabled Enabled Quiet Boot 105 Parameter Bootup Num-Lock PS/2 Mouse Support Description Activates the Numeric Lock function upon booting. Enable this parameter if you intend to use a mouse or trackball with a PS/2 interface. When set to Disabled, the system will boot with no intervention, if possible. When this parameter is Enabled, you will be prompted to press F2 to run BIOS during boot up.
