Remove the screws that secure the right cover, then slide the cover toward the front for about an inch. Pull the upper part of the cover outward. 3.

Removing the CPU Board Support Bar

Remove the screw that secures the CPU board support bar. Firmly hold the support bar and push it toward the front for about an inch. This releases the rear end of the support bar. After releasing the rear end of the bar, carefully detach the front end from the hook that secures it to the housing frame.

Removing the Metal Frame for Additional Hard Disks

Remove the screw that secures the metal frame for additional hard disk. Slide the frame towards the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to release the frame tabs from the slots on the floor of the housing.

Component Installation
Make sure that you have removed the plastic CPU board bracket and the metal frame for additional hard disks before you proceed. Refer to the previous sections for the instructions.

ESD Precautions
Always observe the following electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions before installing any system component: 1. Do not remove a component from its anti-static packaging until you are ready to install it. Wear a wrist grounding strap before handling electronic components. Wrist grounding straps are available at most electronic component stores.

Installing a CD-ROM Drive

Insert a CD-ROM drive into the drive bay and secure the drive with the required screws.

Attach the power supply and the drive cables to the CD-ROM drive. Make sure that the other end of the CD-ROM drive cable is connected to the IDE2 connector on the board.
Follow the same procedure when installing drives in the other 5. 25-inch drive bays. Refer to the system board user's guide for information on drive cable connectors on the system board.

Installing Additional Hard Disks
The system housing comes with a metal frame for additional hard disks. This frame accommodates two half-height hard disks.
1.
Secure the hard disks on the metal frame one by one.
Before you install the additional hard disk frame back into the housing, make sure that you have installed the system board, CPU board and expansion boards, if any.

Locate the slots on the rear on the floor of the housing. Insert the frame tabs into these slots, with the hard disks facing the system board. Carefully slide the frame toward the rear of the housing until it fits in place. Secure the hard disk frame with a screw.

Follow these steps when removing the frame with hard disks installed. Detach the hard disk cables then remove the screws that secures the frame to the housing. Use a flat screwdriver to slowly slide the frame toward the front. See the following figure.
