Appliance Description Model 61100 M Single Ring Cooking Zone Outlet for Steam from the Oven Residual Heat Indicators /1 120 m 10m 7 0/2 145 mm Single Ring Cooking Zone 145 mm 180 mm Residual Heat Indicators Triple Ring Cooking Zone Single Ring Cooking Zone Touch Switch for Switching On Triple Ring Cooking Zone (with indicators) 42 Operating Instructions Initial Cleaning 0 Wipe the ceramic glass cooking surface with a damp cloth to remove any traces left from manufacturing. Important: Do not use any caustic, abrasive cleaners!The surface could be damaged. 1 Using the Cooking Zones 3 3 When the cooking zones are switched on, they may hum briefly. This is a characteristic of all ceramic glass cooking zones and does not impair either the function or the life of the appliance. The cooking zones are operated using the ring switches on the cooker or switch box as described in the relevant set of instructions. Switching On the Triple Ring Cooking Zone Depending on the size of the pan, on the triple ring zone the two larger rings can be switched on, in addition to the smallest cooking zone, using the appropriate touch switch on the glass ceramic cooking surface. Switch on cooking zone in the normal way using the ring switch. ­ The smallest ring on the cooking zone is switched on. Tap the corresponding touch switch on the cooking surface once. ­ The larger ring is also switched on. To switch on the largest ring, tap the touch switch again. To switch off the larger ring, tap the touch switch again. If the triple ring cooking zone is switched off completely using the ring switch, the larger rings must be switched on again the next time the ring is switched on, if required. 43 Operating Instructions Residual Heat Indicator An indicator is assigned to each cooking zone. This illuminates as soon as the corresponding cooking zone becomes hot and warns against inadvertent touching. 1 Important!As long as the residual heat indicator is illuminated, there is a risk of burns. Even after the cooking zone is switched off, the corresponding residual heat indicator will remain on until the cooking zone is cold. 2 You can use the residual heat for melting and keeping food warm. 44 Operating Instructions Usage, Tips Pans The better the pan, the better the results. · You can recognise good pans by their bases. The base should be thick and as flat as possible. · Pans with aluminium or copper bases can leave metal discoloration on the glass ceramic surface that is very difficult or impossible to remove. · Do not use cast iron pans or pans with damaged bases that are rough or burred. Permanent scratching may occur when the pans are slid. [. . . ] · The kitchen unit in which the appliance is fitted must satisfy the requirements of DIN 68930 in respect of stability. · Built-in ovens and cooking surfaces are fitted with special connector systems. They may only be combined with appliances with a matching system. · All cut surfaces are to be sealed with a suitable sealant for protection against moisture. [. . . ]
