Before Using for the First Time

Wipe the ceramic glass cooking surface with a damp cloth to remove any traces left from manufacturing. Important: Do not use any caustic, abrasive cleaners!The surface could be damaged.

Using the Cooking Zones

When the cooking zones are switched on, they may hum briefly. This is a characteristic of all ceramic glass cooking zones and does not impair either the function or the life of the appliance. The cooking zones are operated using the ring switches on the cooker or switch box as described in the relevant set of instructions.
Switching on the Double Ring Cooking Zone
Depending on the pot or pan size, in the case of double ring cooking zones it is possible to switch with the corresponding touch switch on the ceramic hob to the smaller cooking zone of the larger ring. Switch on cooking zone in the normal way using the ring switch. Tap the corresponding touch switch on the cooking surface. The larger ring is also switched on. To switch off the larger ring, tap the touch switch again. If the double ring cooking zone is completely switched off with the ring switch, the larger ring must be switched on again if necessary the next time the unit is switched on.

Switching on the Casserole Zone
Depending on the size of the pan, on the casserole zone the larger ring can be switched on, in addition to the smaller cooking zone, using the touch switch on the glass ceramic cooking surface. Switch on cooking zone in the normal way using the ring switch. Tap the corresponding touch switch on the cooking surface. The larger ring is also switched on. To switch off the larger ring, tap the touch switch again. If the casserole zone is completely switched off using the ring switch, the larger ring must be switched on again, if needed, the next time the zone is switched on.
Residual Heat Indicator
An indicator is assigned to each cooking zone. This illuminates as soon as the corresponding cooking zone becomes hot and warns against inadvertent touching.

Important!As long as the residual heat indicator is illuminated, there is a risk of burns. Even after the cooking zone is switched off, the corresponding residual heat indicator will remain on until the cooking zone is cold.

You can use the residual heat for melting and keeping food warm.

The better the pan, the better the results. · You can recognise good pans by their bases. The base should be thick and as flat as possible. · Pans with aluminium or copper bases can leave metal discoloration on the glass ceramic surface that is very difficult or impossible to remove.
