[. . . ] This is a characteristic of all ceramic glass cooking zones and does not impair either the function or the life of the appliance. The zones are operated using the knobs on the cooker or with using the knobs on the panel, operation is described in the respective in struction manuals. Residual Heat Indicator An indicator is assigned to each cooking zone. This illuminates as soon as the corresponding cooking zone becomes hot and warns against inadver tent touching. As long as the residual heat indicator is illuminated, there is a risk of burns. Even after the cooking zone is switched off, the corresponding residual heat indicator will remain on until the cooking zone is cold. You can use the residual heat for melting and keeping food warm. 9 Operating Instructions Switching on the Casserole Zone Depending on the size of the pan, on the casserole zone the larger ring can be switched on, in addition to the smaller cooking zone, using the touch switch on the glass ceramic cooking surface. Switch on cooking zone in the normal way using the ring switch. Tap the corresponding touch switch on the cooking surface - The larger ring is also switched on. To switch off the larger ring, tap the touch switch again. If the casserole zone is completely switched off using the ring switch, the larger ring must be switched on again, if needed, the next time the zone is switched on. Switching On the Triple Ring Cooking Zone Depending on the size of the pan, on the triple ring zone the two larger rings can be switched on, in addition to the smallest cooking zone, using the appropriate touch switch on the glass ceramic cooking surface. Switch on cooking zone in the normal way using the ring switch. - The smallest ring on the cooking zone is switched on. Tap the corresponding touch switch on the cooking surface once - The larger ring is also switched on. To switch on the largest ring, tap the touch switch again 4. To switch off the larger ring, tap the touch switch again. If the triple ring cooking zone is switched off completely using the ring switch, the larger rings must be switched on again the next time the ring is switched on, if required. . 10 Operating Instructions Usage, Tips Pans The better the pan, the better the results. · You can recognise good pans by their bases. The base should be thick and as flat as possible. · Pans with aluminium or copper bases can leave metal discoloration on the glass ceramic surface that is very difficult or impossible to remove. · Do not use cast iron pans or pans with damaged bases that are rough or burred. Permanent scratching may occur when the pans are slid. · When cold, pan bases are normally bowed slightly in wards (concave). [. . . ] They may only be combined with appliances with a matching system. · All cut surfaces are to be sealed with a suitable sealant for protection against moisture. · On tiled work surfaces, the joints in the area where the hob sits on the sur face must be completely filled with grout. · On natural, artificial stone, or ceramic tops, the snap action springs must be bonded in place.
