Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is left with the appliance in order that the new owner can get to know the functioning of the appliance and the relevant warnings. For successful cooking it is advisable to turn on to the fast setting for a short while to boost the cooking zone selected, and then turn down to the correct setting. H fig. 2 Halogen Cooking Zone The halogen cooking zone is heated up very rapidly compared to the normal one-circuit cooking zone. It can be compared with a gas cooking zone. When switched on the halogen lamps immediately produce their full heating power. Use the halogen heating zone to heat up food quickly. fig. 3 pos. 2 pos. 1 Residual Heat Indicator All cooking zones are related to one indicator. The warning light illuminates when the surface of any cooking zone reaches a temperature which could cause a burn. The light will remain illuminated, after the heated-up area has been switched off, as long as the residual heat of the cooking surface can cause burns. The light will go out when the temperature is below 50°C. 0 pos. 3 Heat control slider The hob is operated by four heat control sliders situated on the right hand side of the hob (fig. 3 - pos. 1). Each is related to an indicator (fig. 3 - pos. 2). The symbol (fig. 3 - pos. 3) indicates the position of the heating zone on the ceramic hob and relates to the slider and corresponding indicator. fig. 4 To begin hob operation Each slider has to be in pos. "0" when starting the ceramic hob. To switch on the ceramic hob, the top slider has to be moved to the position marked with a key (fig. 4). The corresponding indicator shows a horizontal line. 0 7 OPERATION The slider must immediately be returned to the "0" position, and then all the other indicators will show "0". All the heating zones are ready for use but you must switch your selected zone on within 5 seconds. If this is not done, the top indicator will indicate a flashing horizontal line, the hob will then switch off and you will have to repeat the start-up procedure again. If any of the heat control sliders is not in the "0" position, a horizontal line flashes in the corresponding indicator and the appliance can not be turned on (fig. 5). fig. 5 0 Switching on the two-circuit zone The rear left cooking zone gives the possibility of an inner and outer section of the heater. To use the inner section (fig. 6), push the slider to the desired power level. To use both the inner and outer sections (fig. 7), push the slider to the position indicated by the double circle. The figure 8 with a dot by it will be shown, it will now be possible to control both sections with the slider. Please see notes on care and cleaning of your hob. jam and syrups must be wiped off the surface immediately to avoid the surface being damaged. Do not leave an empty pan on a heated area. [. . . ] · Any smearing or hazing on the surface can be removed with a lightly dampened cloth and then be polished with a soft dry cloth. Note · If a wet paper towel is used to remove spills from a warm cooking area, be careful to avoid steam burns. · Do not use a sponge or dishcloth. They will leave a film of water and possible detergent on heating areas, which will turn brown and resemble discolouration, next time the area is heated. [. . . ]
