Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] This appliance is designed to be operated by adults. Children should not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance. Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. This appliance should be serviced by an authorized Service Centre, and only genuine spare parts should be used. [. . . ] Voltage can vary by ±6% of the rated voltage. For operation with different voltages, a suitably sized auto-transformer must be used. The power supply cable plug is provided with a contact for this purpose. If the domestic power supply socket is not earthed, connect the appliance to a separate earth in compliance with current regulations, consulting a specialist technician. The Manufacturer declines all responsibility if the above safety precautions are not observed. This appliance complies with EEC directive number 87/308 of 2/6/87 relative to radio interference suppression. A 10 mm 100 mm B 10 mm NP002 This appliance complies with the following E. E. C. Directives: - 73/23 EEC of 19. 2. 73 (Low Voltage Directive) and subsequent modifications; - 89/336 EEC of 3. 5. 89 (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive) and subsequent modifications. Cleaning the interior Before using the appliance for the first time, wash the interior and all internal accessories with lukewarm water and some neutral soap so as to remove the typical smell of a brand-new product, then dry thoroughly. Do not use detergents or abrasive powders, as these will damage the finish. 39 Door reversibility Before carrying out the operations described below, pull out the mains plug from the wall socket. To carry out door reversal operate as follows: Remove the ventilation grill (D); Remove bottom hinge (E); Slide out the lower door from middle hinge (H) and remove the latter; Slide out the upper door from pin (5), unscrew the latter and then screw it down into the hinge provided on the opposite side; Remove the two plugs, to reveal the holes for the hinge pivots, and remount them on the other side; Refit the upper door and the middle hinge on the opposite side; Refit the lower door and bottom hinge (E) on the opposite side. Remove the plug (F) from the ventilation grill (D) and replace it on the opposite side. Refit it on the opposite side after having pierced the plugs with a punch. Cover the holes left open with the plugs contained in the documentation pack. Warning: After having reversed the opening direction of the doors check that all the screws are properly tightened and that the magnetic seal adheres to the cabinet. If the ambient temperature is cold (i. e. in Winter), the gasket may not fit perfectly to the cabinet. In that case, wait for the natural fitting of the gasket or accelerate this process by heating up the part involved with a normal hairdrier. 6 PR228 40 OPERATION Control panel NS max min ON A A. Operating pilot light B C D Operation - Temperature adjustment After cleaning the appliance's interior, connect the plug to the wall socket. The temperature inside both the refrigerating and freezing compartments is regulated with the thermostat knob (C). Start by using a medium setting (the operating pilot light comes on) and then, later, select the thermostat position most suitable for your requirements. The temperature is adjusted automatically and may be increased (less cold) by turning the knob towards the lower settings or may be decreased (more cold) by turning it towards the higher settings. The correct position, however, must be selected by taking into account that the internal temperature depends on the following factors: room temperature; the number of times the door is opened; the amount of stored food; the location of the appliance. [. . . ] Clean the inside and accessories of the refrigerating compartment with warm water and sodium bicarbonate (one tablespoon in 4 litres of water). Clean the inside of the freezer compartment after each complete defrosting. External cleaning Wash the outer cabinet with warm soapy water. Once or twice a year dust the condenser (black grill) and compressor at the back of the appliance with a brush or vacuum cleaner. An accumulation of dust will affect the performance of the appliance and cause excessive electricity consumption. D196 CUSTOMER SERVICE What to do if the appliance is not functioning properly. If something is not working properly, check that: the plug is firmly in the wall socket and the mains power switch is on; there is an electricity supply (find out by plugging in another appliance); the thermostat knob is in the correct position.
