We recommend that you keep this instruction booklet for future reference and pass it on to any future owners. Transport damages When unpacking the appliance, check that it is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use it and contact the Service Centre. The symbols you will see on some paragraphs of this booklet have the following meaning: The warning triangle and/or the key words (Warning!, Caution!) emphasize information that is particularly important for your safety or correct functioning of the appliance. The information marked with this symbol provides additional instructions and practical tips on the use of the appliance. [. . . ] Mould stains: treat with bleach, rinse well (whites and colour fast clothes only). Grass: soap lightly and treat with bleach (whites and colour fast clothes only). Ball point pen and glue: moisten with acetone (*), lay the garment on a soft cloth and dab the stain. Lipstick: moisten with acetone as above, then treat stains with methylated spirits. Remove any residual marks from white fabrics with bleach. Red wine: soak in water and detergent, rinse and treat with acetic or citric acid, then rinse. Ink: depending on the type of ink, moisten the fabric first with acetone (*), then with acetic acid; treat any residual marks on white fabrics with bleach and then rinse thoroughly. Tar stains: first treat with stain remover, methylated spirits or benzine, then rub with detergent paste. Do not machine wash garments saturated with petroleum, methylated spirits, trichlorethylene, etc. If such fluids have been used to remove stains prior to washing, wait until they have completely evaporated from the fabric before placing garments in the appliance (*) do not use acetone on artificial silk. drawer just before starting the wash programme. If using compact (concentrate) detergents, a programme without prewash must be selected. If a dosage ball/device is supplied with your liquid concentrate detergent, measure the detergent into the device/ball which should then be placed on top of the laundry and at the back of the machine drum. Ensure that the dosage ball is removed before any drying cycle. Any fabric softener or starching additives must be poured into the compartment marked before starting the wash programme. Follow the fabric softener manufacturer's recommendations on quantities to use and do not exceed the «MAX» mark in the fabric softener section of dispenser drawer. Do not spray stain pre-treatment products (e. g. Preen) on or near the machine, as it can attack plastic materials reducing its life. Quantity of detergent to be used The quantity of detergent will depend on the load size, degree of soiling and hardness of the water used. Water hardness is classified in so-called "degrees" of hardness. Information on hardness of the water in your area can be obtained from the relevant water supply company. Follow the product manufacturers' instructions on quantities to use. Not enough washing powder causes: ­ the washload to turn grey, ­ greasy clothes. Too much washing powder causes: ­ sudsing, ­ reduced agitation and washing effect, ­ inadequate rinsing, Use less detergent if: ­ you are washing a small load, ­ the laundry is lightly soiled, ­ large amounts of foam form during washing Detergents and additives Good washing results also depend on the choice of detergent and use of the correct quantities to avoid waste and protect the environment. [. . . ] In this warranty (a) 'Electrolux' means Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd ABN 51 004 762 341 in respect of Appliances purchased in Australia and Electrolux (NZ) Limited in respect of Appliances purchased in New Zealand; (b) 'Appliance' means any Electrolux product purchased by you accompanied by this document; (c) 'Warranty Period' means (i) where you use the Appliance for personal, domestic or household purposes in Australia the period of "24" months and in New Zealand the period of "24" months; (ii) where you use the Appliance for commercial purposes, in Australia the period of "3" months and in New Zealand the period of "3" months, (if the period stated is 0 months you are not covered by this product warranty) following the date of original purchase of the Appliance; (d) 'you' means the purchaser of the Appliance not having purchased the appliance for re-sale, and 'your' has a corresponding meaning. This warranty only applies to Appliances purchased and used in Australia or New Zealand and is in addition to (and does not exclude, restrict, or modify in any way) any non-excludable statutory warranties in Australia or New Zealand. Electrolux warrants that, when dispatched from an Electrolux warehouse, the Appliance is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the Warranty Period. During the Warranty Period Electrolux or its Authorised Service Centre will, at no extra charge if your appliance is readily accessible without special equipment, and subject to these terms and conditions, repair or replace any parts which it considers to be defective.
