Notes which are important for your safety or for the proper functioning of the appliance are stressed with a warning triangle and/or with signal words (Warning!, Caution!, Important!). [. . . ] The temperature display switches to showing the set temperature. Note: Concerning secure food storage temperatures, a refrigerator temperature of 5°C can be regarded as cold enough. The compressor starts and goes on working automatically. When you change the settings, the compressor will not start immediately if it is doing automatic defrosting at that moment. Since the refrigerator quickly reaches the storage temperature after being switched on, you can place the food in immediately. Control panel 1. ON/OFF control light (green) 2. ON/OFF switch 3. Temperature setting buttons (to increase the temperature) 4. Temperature display 5. Temperature setting buttons (to decrease the temperature) 6. COOLMATIC indicator light (yellow) 7. Push button for COOLMATIC Temperature control buttons The temperature can be adjusted with the "+" (warmer) and "-" (colder) buttons. These buttons belong to the temperature display. If you press the "+" (3) or "-" (5) button, , the temperature display will switch from the actual temperature (constantly luminous temperature display field) to the desired temperature (flashing temperature display field). By pressing any of the two buttons the desired temperature can be modified by 1°C. 13 f the adjustment is stopped and neither button is pressed, the temperature display will switch back to its original function and show the actual temperature after a short while (about 5 seconds). The appropriate storage temperature of food and drink is +5°C. Temperature Display The temperature display shows various information: During normal operation the temperature inside the refrigerator (actual temperature) is displayed on the temperature display. At the time of switching on or heating up, the temperature display will show the " " sign until the cold compartment cools down to a temperature between +9 °C and +2 °C. When the temperature is being adjusted, the temperature currently set (desired temperature) flashes on the display field. The display field shows the actual temperature with a delay of maximum 24 hours. COOLMATIC button The COOLMATIC function serves for quickly cooling down a vast amount of fresh food put into the refrigerator, for example drinks and salads prepared for a party. The COOLMATIC function can be switched on by pressing the COOLMATIC button (7). Before cleaning switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the mains, or switch off or disconnect from the electricity supply. Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner. Moisture could accumulate in electrical components and there is a danger of an electrical shock. Hot vapours can lead to the damage of plastic parts. The appliance must be dry before it is switched back on. Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e. g. - lemon juice or the juice from orange peals; - butyric acid; - cleansers which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts. Before any maintenance of cleaning work is carried out DISCONNECT the appliance from the ELECTRICITY SUPPLY. Internal Cleaning Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0. 5 litre of water). Do not use detergents, abrasive powders, highly perfumed cleaning products, wax polishes or cleaning products containing bleach or alcohol. Clean the drain hole of the water trough at regular intervals and ensure that the drain hole is clear at all times.
