Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] These operating instructions are for use with several technically comparable models with varying accessories. Please observe the notes which apply to your model. 1 Notes which are important for your safety or for the proper functioning of the appliance are stressed with a warning triangle and/ or with signal words (Warning!, Caution!, Important!). 0 This symbol guides you step by step in the operation of the appliance. 3 2 Supplementary information regarding operation and practical applications of the appliance appear after this symbol. Tips and notes concerning economical and environmentally sound use of the appliance are marked with the cloverleaf. [. . . ] Refrigerator and freezer compartments can be switched off independently of one another. 0 To switch off press and hold the ON/OFF button for about 5 seconds. A so-called "count down" is started in the temperature display, which counts backwards from "5" to "0". When "0" is reached the appliance switches off. Illumination at the temperature display goes off. 3 0 0 0 0 If the appliance is to be removed from service for a lengthy period: Switch appliance off by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button for about 5 seconds. Defrost freezer compartment and clean thoroughly (see section: "Maintenance and Cleaning"). Leave door open after defrosting to avoid accumulation of odours. 24 818 14 00-00/6 Stand-by Mode In the stand-by mode the temperature for the refrigerator is approximately +15°C. In stand-by mode it is therefore possible to leave the door of the empty refrigerator closed during periods of extended absence. Advantage: Unintentional closing of the door, or accidental closing of the door by persons who have access to your home during your absence, is no longer possible. Without the stand-by mode leaving the door closed would lead to the accumulation of odours and mould. 0 To activate the stand-by mode first press temperature regulator for refrigerator, so that it is freed from its recessed position. The door can be opened again after several minutes. 818 14 00-00/6 27 Interior Accessories Storage Shelves 0 A storage shelf must be inserted into the lower guide track above the fruit and vegetable trays. It must always remain in this position, so that fruits and vegetable remain fresh longer. The remaining storage shelves can be adjusted to various heights: 0 Pull the storage shelf forward until it can be tipped up or down and removed. 0 To insert at a different height use the same procedure in reverse. Adjustment for tall goods: 0 Remove the front half of the twopart vario glass storage shelf and insert it at a different level. Space is thus gained for storage of tall goods on the underlying storage shelf. Bottle rack Place bottles in the rack with the bottleneck to the front. Important: Only store unopened bottles horizontally. The bottle rack can be tilted for storing opened bottles. 28 818 14 00-00/6 Interior Accessories 0 To do this pull the bottle rack forward until it can be tilted upwards, then slide the front support into the next level up. Variable Inner Door The door compartments can be pulled up and removed, and inserted at other positions as needed. Trays and Compartments Vario tray-set The two large fruit and vegetable trays can be divided with an adjustable partition (not included with all models). Tube compartments (not included with all models) Some models are equipped with compartments for tubes and small articles. When set into the bottle compartment, the tube compartment also prevents tipping of individual bottles. 818 14 00-00/6 29 Correct storage For physical reasons, the refrigerator compartment has different temperature zones. The coldest zone is on the lowest storage shelf immediately above the fruit and vegetable trays. [. . . ] Repairs carried out under guarantee do not extend the guarantee period for the appliance. Parts removed during guarantee repairs become the property of AEG. The purchaser´s statutory rights are not affected by this guarantee. 818 14 00-00/6 41 Guarantee Conditions European Guarantee If you should move to another country within Europe then your guarantee moves with you to your new home subject to the following qualifications: · The guarantee starts from the date you first purchased your product. · The guarantee is for the same period and to the same extent for labour and parts as exist in the new country of use for this brand or range of products.
