Adjusting the upper door rack · Depending on the food stored, the upper door racks can be changed to other holders or removed. Take out the refrigerators food, press the door racks digonally upwards at their edges, reposition them, and press them back into place. 13 Installation of the carbon filter On delivery the carbon filter is placed in a plastic bag to secure the length of life of the carbon filter. The filter should be placed behind the grill before the cabinet is turned on. The cover can be opened by simultaneously pressing the lever on the right of grill (1) and turning the cover outward (2). The carbon filter is then mounted in the slot found in the back of the cover (3). 1 2 The filter should be handled carefully so fragments don´t loosen from the surface. 3 Changing the carbon filter To maintain the best performance the carbon filter should be changed once a year with normal usage. New carbon filters can be purchased from your local dealer. The filter is placed behind the grill and can be reached by opening the cover. The cover can be opened by simultaneously pressing the lever on the right of 2 the grill (1) and turning the cover outward (2). The carbon filter is then pulled out of its slot (3). The new carbon filter is placed in the existing slot. The filter should be handled carefully so fragments don´t loosen from the surface. 14 3 Fresh food refrigeration To obtain the best performance: · do not store warm food or evaporating liquide in the refrigeator · do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour. · Position food so that air can circuiate freely round it. Hot vapours can lead to the damage of plastic parts. · The appliance must be dry before it is placed back into service. · Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e. g. ­ lemon juice or the juice from orange peals; ­ butyric acid; 16 1. 5. 6. 7. ­ cleansers which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts. · Do not use any abrasive cleansers. Remove frozen food and the food from the refrigerator. Wrap frozen food in several layers of newspaper. Defrost the freezer compartment prior to cleaning (see "Defrosting" section). Switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse.
