The following Filter Light Indications are: Green - the filter is still operating within its specified cycle. Amber - The filter has reached approximately 80% of its useful life. This is the recommended time to purchase a replacement filter cartridge. After the filter cartridge has been changed, press and hold the "Filter Light Reset" indicator for the amount oft ime indicatd below. If the filter indicator was: Red - Press for 3 - 5 seconds to RESET Amber - Press for 3 - 5 seconds to RESET Green - Press for 10 - 12 seconds to RESET NOTE: The Green light will flash when RESET is completed. (continued) 7 Ice & Water Filter continued TO CHANGE REAR FILTER: (some models) Refer to Figure 3 as needed. It is not necessary to turn the water supply off to change filter. Set ice maker lever (wire signal arm) to the OFF (up) position. Hold filter cup firmly, and unscrew counterclockwise (Figure 3). NOTE: Some water could leak out as you remove cup. Lower the wire signal arm to the DOWN position. When the freezer is cold, ice making will begin. To stop ice maker, lift the wire signal arm until it clicks in and locks in the UP position. It is not necessary to stop the ice maker when the ice server is full. The ice maker will automatically shut itself off when the ice level reaches a certain point in the server. Due to new plumbing connections, the first production of ice from your ice maker may be discolored or have an odd taste. If the dispensing paddle is pushed for more than 4 minutes, the dispenser motor may overload and stop. The overload protector will reset automatically after 3 or 4 minutes. The coldest storage area is the main freezer compartment. Door shelves are intended for shorter term storage items such as juices, pastries, and prepared foods.
