Fresh food refrigeration
To obtain the best performance: · do not store warm food or evaporating liquid in the refrigeator · do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour. · Position food so that air can circuiate freely round it. Useful hints: Meat (all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shelf above the vegetable drawer(s) For safety, store in this way only one or two days at the most. Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc: these should be covered and may be placed on any shelf. Fruit and vegetables: these should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the special drawer(s) provided.
Reversibility of the freezer door
When changing the hinges of the refrigerator door from right to left, it is also advisable to change the opening side of the freezer door. Remove the door lower hinge Remove the freezer door and take off the upper hinge. Unscrew the catch and fix it on the opposite side. If under the catch there is a plastic shim, it must be used only if necessary; Fix the upper hinge. Mount the freezer door on the left side and fix the lower hinge.

Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or wapped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as possible. Never use metal tools to scrape off the frost Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the thawing process other than those recommended by the manufacturer. A temperature rise of the frozen food packs, during defrosting, may shorten their safe storage life.
