Fig. 14 Door liner Shelf for small items If you wish to store several bottles over a certain height in the bottle shelf, move the shelf for small items sideways or lift it (Fig. 15/C). Tube compartment A special compartment for tubes, medicines and other small size packs is provided in the bottom the bottle shelf (Fig. The "longfresh" cold compartment is recommended for longer storage times. For physical reasons, different temperature zones are formed inside the refrigerator compartment. The coldest zone is on the bottom shelf, just above the fruit and vegetable containers. The warmest zones are the top shelves and the door shelves. The following is an example of the most suitable places to store food (Fig. 20). 49 Correct positioning of foods Storage in the "longfresh" compartment In the "longfresh" compartment, the temperature is maintained at a constant level, between 0°C and +3°C. Food stored in the "longfresh" cold compartment stays fresh three times longer than if it were stored in the normal refrigerator compartment. The following are suitable for storage in the "longfresh" compartment: Fresh meat and delicatessen products; fresh poultry; fresh fish; cheese, butter, ricotta; small fruits; carrots, radishes, cauliflower, chicory; salad, mushrooms. The following are not suitable for storage in the "longfresh" compartment: fruit which is not resistant to low temperatures, citrus and tropical fruits such as lemons, oranges, bananas, papaya, pineapple, avocado; vegetables are not resistant to low temperatures, such as cucumber, tomatoes, peppers, beans, courgettes, aubergines and potatoes.
