Motive SMP allows operators to simplify the definition, publication and execution of advanced service troubleshooting and management logic across key elements of their existing service delivery ecosystem. Motive SMP offers the ability to comprehensively define and normalize key service and device configuration settings and management actions. [. . . ] · Motive SMP enables the creation of customized Northbound APIs to normalize device operations across a variety of disparate endpoints. As a result, PLATFORM Northbound systems can interact with different endpoints (e. g. residential gateways, mobile phones and set-top boxes) without using specialized or proprietary functions for each different type or model. Service providers leverage the Motive SMP Northbound Interface API for normalizing the interaction with varying endpoints. Motive SMP also exposes functionality in the form of web services so that external systems can leverage the SMP capabilities. The interfaces exposed are in the form of SOAP-based Web services, as well as an Ajax event broker and call library that can be used directly in web applications. · Motive SMP provides a robust integration framework which allows service providers to easily develop and deploy data source adapters for underlying systems. SMP leverages an integrated data aggregation layer which works in concert with the integration framework to handle communication with the different systems to gather the information required by models. To help streamline the effort involved in integrating into multiple systems, Motive SMP provides several built-in modeling data sources for retrieving information. In addition, Motive products such as Network Analyzer (NA) and Home Device Manager (HDM) have a pre-built data source for Motive SMP In using these products with SMP service . , providers can quickly tie into these data sources to perform common service management operations. Additionally, Motive's data source adapter framework is extensible and supports the installation of modeling data sources created for other systems. · Motive SMP includes a set of runtime services and interfaces which governs data discovery, analysis and actions. The discovery service executes the model and data gathering logic. It ensures the sequencing of the execution so that dependencies between the different components of a model are handled correctly. The service also handles the caching of certain pieces of data to reduce repeated queries and communicating with the applicable modeling data source.
