[. . . ] There are three ways of using this feature: the QCard as the Layer sound, the QCard as the Primary Sound or the QCard as both Primary and Layer. Make sure that the DG8 is not in a Split or Layer. Select an internal Keyboard Program in the DG8 by pressing any of the Keyboard Bank buttons. Use the v and w arrows, if necessary, to select the desired Program in the Bank. To add a QCard Program as the Layer sound, press and hold the LAYER/OFF button. While you are pressing LAYER/OFF, press CARD. The last Program used from the card as a Layer sound is recalled so you can use the v and w arrows, if necessary, to select the desired QCard Program. You can also select a Card Program for the Layer sound as you are selecting a Keyboard Bank: press and hold a Keyboard Bank button (to select the Keyboard Bank for the Primary) and while you are still holding the Keyboard Bank button down, press CARD. (This speeds things up by bypassing the LAYER/OFF button. ) 5. To exit this mode, press the LAYER/OFF button. The DG8 will turn off the Layer and keep the Primary Sound you selected in Step 2. 40 DG8 REFERENCE MANUAL Chapter 2: Playing the DG8 QCard as Primary: 1. Select a QCard Program to be the Primary by pressing the CARD button. Use the v and w arrows, if necessary, to select the desired QCard Program. Press and hold the LAYER/OFF button, then press a Keyboard Bank button. Use the v and w arrows, if necessary, to select the desired Layer sound. Select a QCard Program to be the Primary by pressing the CARD button. Use the v and w arrows, if necessary, to select the desired QCard Program. Press and hold the LAYER/OFF button, then press the CARD button again. This selects another QCard Program to be the Layer sound. Use the v and w arrows, if necessary, to select the desired QCard Program. Please note that this method ­ using the LAYER/OFF button to create the Layer ­ is the only way you can layer two Card Programs.
