PRELIMINARY:
To fit the SYS-LINK option it is necessary to partially remove GROUP 1 circuit board assembly to enable access to the SYS-LINK solder pads. [. . . ] 4, prepare the solder pads on the circuit boards with new solder to ease the soldering of the SYS-LINK wires. Note, the wires are soldered to the trackside of the circuit boards and not the component side. It is recommended that the wires in the SYS-LINK harness are soldered to each circuit board in the following order: GROUP 4 then GROUP 3 then GROUP 2 then GROUP 1 then LEFT and then finally the RIGHT PCB.

MOUNTING THE SYS-LINK CIRCUIT BOARD:
The SYS-LINK circuit board mounts onto the GROUP 1 circuit board using the 3 pillars already fitted to the SYS-LINK circuit board assembly. On the GL3000 GROUP circuit board, one mounting hole requires drilling. 5 for details of drilling the extra mounting hole.

To fit the SYS-LINK circuit board to the GROUP circuit board, unscrew the 3 screws already partly screwed into the mounting pillars and align with the holes in the GROUP circuit board. 6, slide the SYS-LINK harness toward the back of the console and down the gap between the CONNECTOR circuit board and the GROUP circuit boards. 2, fit the GROUP and SYS-LINK circuit board assembly and re-connect the flexible flat cables (D) to the GROUP and LEFT circuit boards.

FITTING THE SYS-LINK HARNESSES :
Refering to fig. 6 below, fit the 4 SYS-LINK ribbon harnesses to the connectors on the edge of the SYS-LINK circuit board. Note which connector each harness plugs onto and the correct alignment of pin 1 with the red stripe on the ribbon cable. Remove the D type mounting screws from the D type connectors and mount them onto the rear panel using the fixings supplied. Check the connectors are mounted into the correct apertures on the rear panel.
