American Classic New Style Seatpost Installation.  [. . . ] The clamps rest on the cradle plate and rails.

Step 3: Press the top of the seatpost down into position while sliding the 2 lower clamp pieces into place.

Step 4: While holding the lower clamp pieces in place,  install the 4mm hex bolt (lightly greased). Step 5: Install the seatpost in the bike and then micro adjust accordingly. Torque Specification: 35 inch-pounds or 4 N-M. NOTE: Always remember to keep bolt,  threads and surface contact points clean. Preventative maintance will extend the life of your bike.
