Tools Required
The only tool required for this procedure is a Phillips screwdriver.
Opening the Computer
Warning: Always shut down your computer before opening it to avoid damaging its internal components or causing injury. After you shut down the computer, the internal components can be very hot. Let the computer cool down before continuing. [. . . ] If the power supply needs service, contact your Apple reseller or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Lift the latch on the right side access panel. Gently lower the access panel until it lies flat. To avoid scratching the case, lower the panel onto a soft, clean cloth. Warning: If you see any lights glowing on the main logic board, the computer has not been shut down. Close the side access panel and shut down the computer before proceeding.

Removing the Installed Card
1. Locate the installed AirPort Extreme Card. Unplug the antenna wire from the port on the end of the AirPort Extreme Card. (Figure 3) Figure 3

3. Pull the clear plastic tab on the card to disconnect the card from the connector on the logic board. (Figure 4) Figure 4
Installing the Replacement Card
1. Insert the replacement AirPort Extreme Card, barcode side facing down, through the opening in the card guide and into the card connector on the logic board. Make sure the card is firmly seated in the connector. Warning: Do not insert any card other than an AirPort Extreme Card into this connector or you could damage your computer and the card.
