CAUTION If the diagnostic warning light LED "EFI" (17) on the dashboard starts flashing during the normal running of the engine, this means that the electronic unit has detected an anomaly. In many cases, the engine keeps running with reduced performance levels; immediately contact your Local aprilia Dealer. STARTING AT VERY COLD AMBIENT TEMPERATURES The vehicle is equipped with automatic starter and requires no particular precaution for the cold start procedure. If the ambient temperature is very cold [less than 0C (32F)], the automatic starter is connected and increases the engine rpm until the engine reaches the optimal temperature, then it is automatically disconnected. If the engine starts: Release the starter button (15). If idle is uneven, open the throttle (16) slightly. If the engine does not start: Wait for a few seconds and repeat the above starting procedure. If necessary, remove all the spark plugs, see p. 132 (SPARK PLUGS) and make sure that they are not wet. If the spark plugs are wet, clean and dry them. Before reinstalling them: CAUTION The automatic starter cannot be operated manually. NOTE Put a clean cloth over the spark plug holes of both cylinders, in order to protect the vehicle from spraying oil.
