the managed LAN switch is an integral product in Ascom's palette of military communication equipment. constructed for harsh environments the ultra-reliable ruggedized unit provides hundreds of thousands service free hours. [. . . ] rstp (rapid spanning tree protocol) gives additional network path redundancy while the fibre-optical and copper ports allow long distance connectivity. the switch also supports power over ethernet. real-time ethernet performance is standard. each port maintains ingress and egress rate control. other advanced features include IGMp (Internet Group Management protocol), Query & snooping and port security. Its `wire-speed' packet forwarding is based on MAc addresses and automatic intelligent routing prevents collisions and delays. Field programmable, operators particularly appreciate the integrated friendly Webserver sNMp monitoring tools. the switch ruggedized package is corrosion resistant and shock/ vibration proof. Its watertight ultra rugged enclosure is hermetically sealed to totally protect against severe humidity, dust exposure, oil, debris and other environmental hazards found in harsh situation. It is also highly reliable in extended-temperature operation. Another benefit of the compact LAN switch r is the multiple of mounting positions, making it easier to install and to access the connectors.
