[. . . ] ASUS Update requires an Internet connection either through a network or an Internet Service Provider (ISP). Insert the support CD into the CD-ROM drive. Click the Utilities tab, then click Install ASUS Update VX. XX. XX. See page 5-3 for the Utilities menu screen. The ASUS Update utility is copied into your system. To update the BIOS using ASUS Update: 1. Launch the utility from the Windows desktop by clicking Start > Programs > ASUS > ASUSUpdate > ASUSUpdate. Select your desired update method, then click Next. From the FTP site, select the BIOS version that you wish to download. Follow the instructions on the succeeding screens to complete the update process. 6. To display the sub-menu, select the item and press <Enter>. 4. 2. 6 Configuration fields These fields show the values for the menu items. If an item is user-configurable, you may change the value of the field opposite the item. You can not select an item that is not user-configurable. A configurable field is enclosed in brackets, and is highlighted when selected. To change the value of a field, select it then press <Enter> to display a list of options. ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard 5-33 5. 8 Cool `n' Quiet!TM Technology The motherboard supports the AMD Cool `n' Quiet!TM Technology that dynamically and automatically change the CPU speed, voltage, and amount of power depending on the task the CPU performs. 5. 8. 1 Enabling Cool `n' Quiet!TM Technology To enable Cool `n' Quiet!TM Technology: 1. Turn on the system and enter BIOS by pressing the <Del> key during the Power On Self-Tests (POST). In the Advanced > CPU Configuration > AMD CPU Cool & Quiet Configuration menu, select the item Cool N'Quiet and set it to Enabled. [. . . ]
