14. Wake-On-Ring Connector (2-pin J18) This connector connects to internal modem cards with a Wake-OnRing output. The connector wakes up the system when a ringup packet or signal is received through the internal modem card.
For external modems, Wake-On-Ring is detected through the COM port.

· System Power LED Lead (3-1 pin PLED) This 3-1 pin connector connects to the system power LED. The LED lights up when you turn on the system power, and blinks when the system is in sleep mode. · System Message LED Lead (2-pin MLED) This 2-pin connector is for the system message LED that indicates receipt of messages from a fax/modem. The normal status for this LED is OFF, when there is no incoming data signal. The system message LED feature requires an ACPI OS and driver support. · System Warning Speaker Lead (4-pin SPEAKER) This 4-pin connector is for a chassis-mounted speaker. · ATX Power Switch / Soft-Off Switch Lead (2-pin PWR) This lead connects a switch that controls the system power. Pressing the power switch turns the system between ON and SLEEP, or ON and SOFT OFF, depending on the BIOS or OS settings. Pressing the power switch while in the ON mode for more than 4 seconds turns the system OFF. · Reset Switch Lead (2-pin RESET) This lead connects to the case-mounted reset switch for rebooting the system without turning off the system power. · System Management Interrupt Lead (2-pin SMI) This lead connects to the case-mounted suspend switch, and allows you to manually place the system into "Suspend Mode" or "Green Mode" where system activity is decreased to save electricity and expand the life of system components. · Keylock Lead (2-pin KEYLOCK) This lead connects to a chassis-mounted switch to allow use of the keyboard lock feature.

Starting up for the first time
1. After making all the connections, replace the system case cover. Connect the power cord to the power connector at the back of the system chassis. Connect the power cord to a power outlet that is equipped with a surge protector. Turn on the devices in the following order: a. External SCSI devices (starting with the last device on the chain) c. [. . . ] When asked for the installation media, choose `media images', and type the directory path to the VOL. 000. 000 file. (In step 1, if you copied it to /tmp, type `/tmp'). After the installation of the driver is complete, exit `custom'. Run `netconfig' and add the adapters. [. . . ]
