[. . . ] When you remove any chassis component, the sensor triggers and sends a high-level signal to these leads to record a chassis intrusion event. The default setting is short CASEOPEN and GND pin by jumper cap to disable the function. Locator LED (2-pin LOCATORLED1 and 2-pin LOCATORLED2) These leads are for the locator LED1 and LED2 on the front panel. Connect the Locator LED cables to these 2-pin connector. The LEDs will light up when the Locator button is pressed. Locator Button/Swich (2-pin LOCATORBTN) These leads are for the locator button on the front panel. This button queries the state of the system locator.

This chapter tells how to change the system settings through the BIOS Setup menus. Detailed descriptions of the BIOS parameters are also provided.

Managing and updating your BIOS
The following utilities allow you to manage and update the motherboard Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) setup: 1. ASUS EZ Flash 2 (Updates the BIOS using a USB flash disk. ) BUPDATER utility (Updates the BIOS in DOS mode using a bootable USB flash disk drive. )

ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 (To recover the BIOS using a bootable USB flash disk drive when the BIOS file fails or gets corrupted. )
Save a copy of the original motherboard BIOS file to a bootable USB flash disk drive in case you need to restore the BIOS in the future. Copy the original motherboard BIOS using the ASUS Update or AFUDOS utilities.
Refer to the corresponding sections for details on these utilities.

ASUS EZ Flash 2 utility
The ASUS EZ Flash 2 feature allows you to update the BIOS without having to use a DOS-based utility.
Before you start using this utility, download the latest BIOS from the ASUS website at www. asus. com.
To update the BIOS using EZ Flash 2 1. Go to the Tools menu to select EZ Flash 2 and press <Enter> to enable it. Or, press <Alt> + <F2> during the POST to enable EZ Flash 2.

Insert the USB flash disk that contains the latest BIOS file to the USB port.

Press <Tab> to switch between drives until the correct BIOS file is found. When found, EZ Flash 2 performs the BIOS update process and automatically reboots the system when done.
· · This function can support devices such as a USB flash disk with FAT 32/16 format and single partition only. DO NOT shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS to prevent system boot failure!
Ensure to load the BIOS default settings to ensure system compatibility and stability. Select the Load Setup Defaults item under the Exit menu. See section 5. 9 Exit Menu for details.

BUPDATER utility
The succeeding BIOS screens are for reference only. The actual BIOS screen displays may not be the same as shown.
The BUPDATER utility allows you to update the BIOS file in DOS environment using a bootable USB flash disk drive with the updated BIOS file.

To update the BIOS file using the BUPDATER utility: Visit the ASUS website at www. asus. com and download the latest BIOS file for the motherboard. Save the BIOS file to a bootable USB flash disk drive.
Copy the BUPDATER utility (BUPDATER. exe) from the ASUS support website at support. asus. com to the bootable USB flash disk drive you created earlier. Boot the system in DOS mode, then at the prompt, type: BUPDATER /i[filename]. ROM where [filename] is the latest or the original BIOS file on the bootable USB flash disk drive, then press <Enter>.

The utility verifies the file, then starts updating the BIOS file.

The utility returns to the DOS prompt after the BIOS update process is completed. Reboot the system from the hard disk drive.
